Round Robin Play

A Round Robin is a structured form of play organized by skill levels. In the time allocated to each round robin session (120 minutes) you will play six games, each with a different partner and against a different pair of opponents. It is designed so that all players are playing against people of roughly equal ability, which makes play the most fun and competitive for most players.

When you arrive you will write your name by a number on our white board located at the entrance to court 1. Your number remains yours throughout the session and dictates which court you play on, with whom you are playing as a partner, and against which opponents. The Program Host will help you get started with this. By the end of six games you will have played with six different partners and against different opponents! You may have a “bye” (where you sit out for one game) if there is an uneven number of players signed up. A seventh game consisting of the “bye” players enables everybody to play six games.

A Host is present at every program. The Host manages the signup board and the time clock. In order to keep everything running smoothly and on-time, players should arrive AT LEAST 10 minutes before the round robin is scheduled to start. Late arrivals may be replaced or simply not allowed to play.

Round Robin Registration

A round robin registration is active until three hours before the start of the event.

• It is the responsibility of any registered player to either: 1) cancel their reservation at least three hours before the start of the event, or 2) show up and play. A registered player who does neither of the above potentially is taking a spot away from someone on the waitlist.
• Consequently, the non-cancelling player will be charged for the program session.
• Rare exceptions will be considered for cancellation, please notify the Board at councilbluffsapb@gmail.com if you are requesting a refund for a no-show or late cancellation.

Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel prior to three hours before the Program begins, you will receive credit for a future session that can be used at a later date. No cash refunds are given.

Club Credits are non-refundable.

Round Robin Waitlist:

• When a registered player withdraws from a round robin, the first person on the waitlist will automatically be registered up until three hours before the start of the event. That person is expected to show up to play or cancel the reservation.
• If that waitlisted person no longer wishes to play, they must remove their name from the waitlist at least three hours before the start of the event.
